Pete, if you think an "elsie" with ejectors is hard to close, try a gun with Southgate ejectors. You almost have to break the gun over your knee just to open it after firing. On the first style ejectors before 1902, the kicker tips can wear and if worn enough will just pop them and not out of the gun, on the later ones if they eject before gun is fully opened, the ejector trip is worn and has to be replaced.
