    1898 A-1 Archived Message

Attached are a few pictures of my 1898 A-1. This A-1 has factory original Nitro Steel barrels (confirmed via research letter). Another interesting feature is that this gun is lacking the Syracuse style convex ribs on the underside of the frame. Has anyone seen an A-1 without this feature? Maybe by 1898 Hunter Arms had done away with this. Also, the top of the frame has an interesting engraving treatment. It almost looks like a texture type of treatment opposed to a stippling process. Has anyone seen this? Thanks to Dennis Potter who did a fantastic job to get this gun in working order and to look the way it should.
