Mark, the "S" in your serial number means at this time the company was owned by Marlin (1945) and starting in 1946 guns now manufactured by the L.C. Smith Gun Company a subsidiary of Marlin had the prefix of FW (Featherweight) "S". The serial numbers started over again and the first was FWS 1, this gun was made by the employees and presented to Roger Kenna, President of Marlin.
