    Neil, in your description of the serial number does this gun have an "H" prefix which I think it does, if so this gun is from 1919.

    At this time the serial numbers for both hammer and hammerless guns are mixed. Earlier hammer guns had an "F" prefix but now that the serial numbers are mixed, they had to change the prefix because the Field Grade hammerless gun had an "F" designation. Now all hammer guns until 1934 had an "H" prefix.

    At this time it would have Royal Steel barrels (unless ordered different). It would be a 2 pin back action lock with the "C" style low hammers.
    Many of us still shoot these and older hammer guns at our shoots once determined that they are safe to shoot.
