    Here is the gun

    Here is the story

"A little historical info for you about the Real Silver Breach L.C. Smith double guns. Each and every pre 1913 L.C. Smith double gun was made to the exact same high quality Standards & Specs, individually hand fit and finished. Only the engraving and the internal jewelled working parts were different. The 1913 double gun breach work you see in the picture was shipped to the Steel Mill in Pittsburgh, Pa (JL&B at that time), after the Breach was completed at the Hunter Arms Factory. The Breach including the triggers was then silver plated to my Great Grandfather & John Hunters specifications, in reality my family owns a complete set of these Silver Breach L.C. Smith Special Ordered Shotguns, they were given to my Grandfather by his father and John Hunter as a birthday present. Other Elsies were made & sold later, with Chrome plating by the L.C. Smith Hunter Arms Company, as Special Order Shotguns, every once in a while you will see one for sale."

John: possibly you could ask Pine Creek Dave for the SN (Xs added if he wishes) so we could confirm the DOM and Dr Jim could look up the specs.
It appears to have a blued frame and lockplate, with a Single Sighting Plane Rib and post-1913 forend. Hard to tell from the image.
John Hunter had no relationship with Hunter Arms after 1917.
