Byron, the serial number is in several places and if the guns correct the numbers should all match. Make sure the gun is cocked and pull the wooden Forearm off from the under side of the barrels by putting your index finger in the opening between the barrels and the wood. On the forearm iron there will be a serial number stamped in the steel. Now push the top leaver over like your going to open the gun, but make sure you have a good hold on the barrels with one hand because as the gun opens the barrels will totally seperaye or come off the gun. When you have the 2 apart there will be another serial number stamped on the barrel flats as well as one on the water table on the recover. As I mentioned before all three numbers should match
