That.410 Field Grade ejector Smith may have been a present from A. Harriman, founder of the Idaho Sun Valley Resort, pre WW2 era. He also gave Ernest a Cogswell and Harrison 12 bore hammer ejector gun, which later went to Hemingway's elder son, Jack Hemingway. I met Jack, aka "Bumby" in West Yellowstone, June 1989- at a FFF convention held there at the FFF museum. He told me that he still had it, but was not the hunter either of his step-brothers were. It is good to remember that many of Hemingway's possessions from Finca Vigia were stolen by Batista's Gestapo!!!
