I have a LONG RANGE Ideal Grade, has the 3" chambers and ejectors, double triggers and 30" London Steel barrels, both full choke. It has been used a great deal, and there are minute cracks around the rear area of the lockplates in the wood-. Is it better to shoot std 2& 3/4" loads in it for duck hunting, and not use the 3" shells. If I want a single trigger installed, what gunsmithing firm can do this. I have a Browning Clitori SC shotgun with single trigger, and I would prefer this Smith LONGRANGE duck gun to also have one trigger- as both barrels are choked the same, it does not need to be selective, as on my Clitori.
