    Dog Head Fore-end Archived Message

    Friends-

    I am having an early model Grade 2 restored. In the fore-end there is a circular inset, which appears to have the remnants of a "Dog Head" carving. I can see the outline of an ear clearly, however, the rest of the carving is worn smooth.

    Was this a "factory" item and if so, would someone post a picture?
