Oron, from my research, the 3 barrel started at serial number 300 and went to 1600. On the lock it would have either WH Baker Pat. or just Baker Pat. The top of the barrel would state, L.C. Smith Maker of Baker Guns Syracuse, N.Y.
These guns were offered from 1880-1884. After that of the one I had seen had L.C. Smith on the lock. I believe the 3 barrel was discontinued in 1886.
The earlier guns before 1884, the opening lever was outside of the trigger guard.

The standard shotgun gauge was 12 or 10 ga. and the rifle was mostly chambered for 44-40, but was offered with 38-55 Ballard, 38-55, 45-70, 45 Ballard and I'm sure others.
The came in Quality 1 through Quality 5, with 5 being the highest.
The length of barrels were mostly 30"

Here is one that sold as Julia's last year for $63,250. This gun was a presentation gun from Lyman C. Smith to his older brother Leroy H. Smith when he and W.H. Baker and a few others went to start the Ithaca Gun Co. It is a 12 x 12 x 38-55.
It belonged to one of our members.
