I am aware of two similar -- a 1929 16 gauge Field Grade NIB that sold for $2500 about 4 years ago and a 1929 12 gauge Field Grade NIB that sold for $3500 about 3 years ago. Both were represented as being unfired (who knows?) and both still had the original varnish on the side locks. Both had the original box, no hang tag. Neither had "books" or cleaning rods, but those are not hard to find. Buyers probably overpaid but they are happy with the purchases.
