Just as Will stated. Sometime in 1918 all serial numbers were mixed together. In catalogs after 1918 12 gauge hammer guns were referred to with a letter "H" and 10 gauge with "HH". I have never seen a 10 gauge hammer gun after 1918 with a "HH" prefix but have seen many 12 gauges with the "H" prefix. In the catalogs this I believe was for ordering. After 1912 there were some special order hammer guns, one Eagle Grade 16 gauge, 4 Specialty Grades, 47 Trap Grades, 3 Ideal and 28 E Grades. Of the E Grades I have never seen one or have one recorded.
