Thanks to each of you for your assistance and advice. I went back to the shop today and looked more closely at this gun. - Yes the for-end and kickers have both been braised. - There are no markings of any kind on the 32" barrels as Frank (Finch?) suggested, as like his 2E. Not even a nitro steel proof mark. - There does not appear to be a crack at the usual spots where the wood meets the side plates. - Hunter One trigger has problems. After I cock it, and pull the trigger twice, the right sounds good, but he left sounds different. when I open again to recock, the left firing pin is stuck in the out position. I can still close it, but it was always out. Could never get it to go back in. Like I said, thank you all so much for helping me not make a mistake.
