L.C. Smith triple barrel Archived Message

I will be inheriting a L.C. Smith triple barrel, double 10 Gauge with a .38 on bottom. It has been in the family for over 100 years. My uncle thinks it was made between 1885-1888. There is no pistol grip checkering, it has some nice engraving on barrel etc, but not loaded with it. It has the damascus barrels as well as hammers. The butt pad is just metal, with a two flat head screws holding it on. It is in really nice shape, hasn't been banged around, always babied. It hasn't been shot in probably 60-70 years. Does anyone know how many like this were produced? What would one like this be worth? I have no intentions of ever selling it, I just really have no clue about how rare or the worth of one of these.
