1925 LC SmithOpen Slighly When Fired...Help? Archived Message

About 15 years ago when firing store bought shells when shooting clays, my field grade LC Smith double barrel (80144) started to open 1/8 to 1/4 inch at the breech. It snaps shut just as always. I don't remember the specifications of the shells I was using. I stopped using the gun but now want to start using it again.
The breech open lever is right on center when closed. I took the side plates off and all the parts look OK...I don't want to take apart the vee spring to clean the cylinder that might be dirty. On the barrel, the "tang" where the cylinder engages is not parallel to the barrels but slopes lower towards the rear of the gun...not sure if this is normal.
Can this problem be corrected and how and by whom?
Can I just use low recoil loads to avoid the problem? I realize this gun is limited to 1.125 oz shot and 3 DRAM.
Thanks Much for your help
Ken
