John, in order to get to the top lever spring, the trigger plate has to come off, which is basically everything. I do not know what the minimum would be. If you have never taken one apart, it can be a nightmare to reassemble again.
In removing the locks you can access the firing pins. On some guns they are a tight fit where the wood is inletted, but can be filed to remove them.
