This fast burning powder is a very interesting dynamic but a clarification, please... I've always thought (possibly incorrectly) that the fast burn of the powder started in the shell via the primer but that the powder continued to burn and create pressure as it pushed the projectile up the barrel therefore pressure would increase beyond the forcing cone. Mr. Martin's comment seems to indicate that the primary powder burn (and resulting pressure) occurs in the length of the shell. Am I understanding that correctly?? Thanks.
