    Need restoration advice Archived Message

I just rescued a 1901 LC Smith 16ga grade 2 with steel barrels from a lost, lonely, forgotten corner of a garage. The wood is a lost cause and the blueing and case color is all gone BUT it works, all pieces are there, and there was minimal rust with no dents or pitting......
I showed it to Turnbull at the Tulsa gun show and he told me it would likely be a $7,000 restoration........... I could buy a heck of an original gun for that. So, I'm not spending that $ to restore it but I refuse to let this work of art just sit and waste away.....
    Any recommendations?
    Thank You,
