Jerry you might get lucky and it will fit, but most times they need to be tweeked to fit right. The only way to tell is to compare the two side by side and see if they both look the same. Then take the wood off and just put the for-end metal on with the new "J" spring and see if it fits correctly.
And yes, take out the pin and make sure you don't loose the tension spring.
