In my experience, LC Smith guns with no chamber length markings were made with whatever chamber length was standard for Hunter Arms at the time. Guns with chamber length markings were made in non standard lengths. For example, I have a 16 gauge built in 1933 that has 2 3/4" chambers, and was so marked by Hunter because at that time the standard chamber length for an LC Smith 16 was 2 9/16". I would bet that your gun left the factory with either 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" chambers.
