Trick to installing trigger plate ??Archived Message

Hi I just bought this hammer gun as a project, it needs a good cleaning and minor repairs. The top lever was not working properly, upon disassembly the lever was in front of its flat spring not engaging the spring. Here is my problem and apparently the previous owners problem. When I put the top lever behind the spring it cocks the lever shaft to one side therefore out of alignment for the hole it sits in on the trigger plate. While the receiver is out of the stock I can push it into place install the trigger plate and it works like a charm. When the receiver is in the stock I can't figure anyway to push that shaft to line up the hole in the trigger plate therefore I can't install the plate. This is where I'm hopping more experienced guys might have a trick or make some kind of tool to line this stuff up. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tom
