I am considering a FW L. C. Smith 12 gauge and I'm trying to decide between a well used 1909 and an exceptional 1937. I am going to use it for trap and an occasional hunt. The 1909 has nice bores and wood is good and the 1937 still has 97 % of bluing and 92% of case coloring and bores are exceptional. I've heard that the older guns are possibly less likely to crack around the lock. I would welcome all opinions and experiences that will help me in my decision.
