Need part, Part #? Archived Message

When I pulled the forend off of my Field Grade Elsie, the little wear plate that contacts the cocking rods, fell off of the forend metal. I guess the screw got loose, I had this happen to me once before with this gun a few years ago, anyway, in the process of putting it back together I reversed the plate and got it in a bind and ended up breaking the screw off in the plate. So, now I have the little plate with a screw broken off.

I need a replacement screw and I would prefer a new wear plate as I believe the threads are bad in the wear plate anyway.

Does anyone know the part number and or where the best place to purchase one or two if these?

My other Elsie Specialty Grade has the same plate and I checked it and it was loose, so I tightened it back but I suspect that there is a lot of pressure on these little plates over the years and might be a good part to replace.

I am thinking I might want to use lock-tite on these in the future.

Also, does anyone ever file these down a little to allow the action to open a little wider to make it easier to load and unload?
