Authentication Letter vs. Data in booksArchived Message

You may recall my name from a previous post regarding HOT operation. I am new to LCSCA, and am learning about these fine guns. In my quest for knowledge, I have purchased "The Legend Lives" book by Houchins, and the Production Numbers book by Stubbendieck. In pouring over these books, and comparing the data to my Authentication Letter, I have made some discoveries, and hence, created questions. On the top of page 283 of Houchins book, the Specialty Grade Ventilated Rib Double Barrel Gun describes my gun to a "T". The vent rib is raised, giving a single sight plane as described in the ad. All other descriptions in the ad match my gun. My gun's vent rib looks like picture on page 387 Houchin's book, but that option is described as being introduced in 1939. The Authentication Letter I received states that 778 guns were made with my exact configuration. The letter describes the gun as "REOBV" finished Oct 31 1925. In Stubbendieck's book, page 62, the number of guns produced with the "SSP" option is 166 units. I assume the SSP is not what was used on the gun ad described on page 283? If so, how does it differ? Is it possible to discern with the data how many of the guns were produced per the ad on page 283? I understand that the data is less than comprehensive, and this may possible. Thanks for your time.
