No, I not certain. The current owner doesn't know the history behind the A1 either. Would a serial number be helpful to learn if the stock has been shortened? I also noticed that the bottom of the barrels are marked A1 and E. Looking on line other Damascus barrels were only marked A1. As you know all? A1's were built with ejectors.
