Although not a very popular option, given the paucity of examples I've seen over the years; Skeleton butt plates were always available on special request as I have a copy of an engraving cost schedule prepared by A.E. Kraus and dated 1940 (or '41; can't recall the exact date just now?)listing the cost to engrave a skeleton butt plate as proof. Skeleton and checkered butts (not counting the later vintage skeet guns) were always available options, but examples are seldom seen.
