Thanks Jim, The gun is in fact a 20 with 28" barrels. The forend iron, barrel flats, and frame all have different fonts. Given the hand assembly nature I am assuming that this really doesn't mean much. I was intrigued by the "bubble" look of the #s on the barrel flats. But I agree it is probably not worth forging a low grade gun. John
