Thanks Jim. Would the record have necessarily indicated the forend? I see your article in DGJ on the Long Range guns indicates that one gun, field grade long range, was made with a beavertail forend. Odds that I have found this gun are pretty incredible.... but maybe. I have purchased it and will pick it up in a few days. Hands on I can see if the forend and stock or original. If so great...if not...no such thing as a bad L.C. Smith. Thanks for all the help.
