Thanks for all the help. The drill bit method worked quite well once I got it in the vise.You can actually put the rear and front trigger plate screws in and push the drill bit over to get it into position but I had to tap on the top lever from the bottom(the lever side actually as the gun was upside down)to get it to pop into place. Took more than one try to get the safety linked properly - jeez!. Seems to have a 3-position safety, with the rearmost position giving it a non-automatic safety. I successfully test fired it down the outhouse hole and took it up the hill to the owner. Here's to hoping no one brings me another of these to resurrect!
