Stuart, I have never seen an 8 gauge Fulton L.C. Smith hammer gun, nor have I ever heard of one. Hunter Arms stayed with making hammer guns when John Hunter bought out L.C. Smith, Syracuse Gun Co. in 1888. Earlier catalogs do not list any 8 gauge hammer guns made, but there are a few around but are quite scarce. Fulton hammer guns were made from 1889 to 1890, there were none made from 1891-1893 and it would be interesting to know the answer as to why. They were made until 1934 with 4 being found that were made in the 1920's but not recorded in the ledgers and finally put together in 1934. They were made in 10, 12 and 16 gauge, and the 10 gauge guns were not made after 1918.
