Bill, the Longrange described in catalogs was supposed to shoot farther and hold a tighter pattern out to 80 yards. Why someone would want to shoot at anything at 80 yards is beyond me. In a Double Gun Journal a few issues back written by Dr. Jim Stubbendieck and Dr. Drew Hause, I tested mine using a 3" load that was as close as I could get to back then, except I used a plastic wad and Blue Dot powder. At 80 yards, a 30" circle looked to be about 5". One pellet would have broken a wing, and there were two in the body but most likely would not bring it down. The Longrange gun was supposed to be special bored, but I did not see any special boring in mine. The chokes in both barrels were .042 constriction. Mine weighs 8 lbs. 12 ozs. and has ejectors and HOT.
