Put the safety push rod in, making sure the safety slide is on "SAFE" and assemble. If you look at the top lever when the unit is upside down you can see a notch on the top lever where the safety push rod rests against this notch. When the safety is pushed forward it slides in the groove made for it, freeing the triggers. Upon opening the top lever the notch pushes the safety push rod back, re-setting the safety. You might have to slightly bend the new push rod to fit in the slot correctly. Also make sure the trigger assembly safety link goes into the slot of the safety slide or else you will be taking it apart again.
