    The Syracuse buttplate was used 1886-1892, and a plain buttplate thereafter.

    c. 1900 0 and 00 guns are frequently found with the a "Trap Gun" buttplate, long before the L.C. Smith Double Barrel Trap Gun was introduced in 1920
