My family has a LC Smith shotgun in great shape--it is still used for hunting. It is a 12 gauge--double barrel--twin hammers, twin tiggers---one barrel full choke--one barrel modified choke. A dime will fit in one barrel. How can we determine the age. I am thinking this gun was made in the 1800,s time period. We were offered a great sum of money for it, but refused, it is a family heirloom. When did LC Smith start making these guns. I do know it is at least close to 100 yrs. old.---The gun has been kept in great shape by taking it to a gunsmith to replace the broken stock and fix a pin hole in the barrel. We do not shoot mags in it--maybe to much of a shell.

    Thanks James Walls
