    Unfortunately I believe your barrels were cut. Barrels at that time were either 30" or 32". But never say never as we have found out in the past. The only way to tell is to have the bores and then the choke area miked up. Since the beginning, I believe the choke area should be parallel for 1" and then taper to bore, total distance should be 2 9/16" from start of choke to bore.
    The piece missing is a piece of ebony wood.
    The original butt plate would have been a dog watching a duck fall in a marsh with The L.C. Smith above it, and Trap Gun below it. The Trap Gun logo was to promote that their guns were good for trap, not necessarily meaning that they were just trap guns.
    You can still buy the ebony wood and have it fitted, and the Pachmayer pad has to go. I don't know if a recoil pad was even available then. Since the wood wasn't cut, you can still also buy a replacement butt plate like the original.
    I believe gun was made in later part of 1887.
