Given LC Smith Would Like Info and Need Forearm Archived Message

Gentlemen, I was given a friend of mine's late fathers LC Smith shotgun. The receiver is stamped FW with Field underneath. S/N S187xx, according to the site this makes it a 1947 Marlin manufactured gun. The barrels are 30" with double triggers and extractor and are 12ga. The barrels do not have gauge or company markings on the top, but are stamped with Field and armor steel on the bottom. The barrel serial number matches the receiver s/n. The lockplates are pointed and the left side shows two screw heads, judging by the FAQs the gun is a featherweight.
I've occasionally seen forearms on E-bay, but I have no idea what type of iron would match my gun.
There is no finish left on the gun, but the bores are bright and clean. I'd like to make a shooter out of it. I realize the forearm will likely cost what the gun is worth, but would rather have a shooter than part it out.
Thanks for any help or advice, Gary
