Thanks again-Looks to me that if I decide to purchase this older but restored 12 gauge O grade Smith I should have it shipped to an area FFL dealer-and fill out the NICS forms-better safe than sorry, the transaction is pending, the party offering the Smith is leaving for a hunting trip soon, so after he returns we will resume the discussion. I will want a 3 day non-shooting inspection- I am also looking at a Dan LeFever G grade 12 30" Damascus-not restored and with a shortened buttstock mechanically fine however- I'm just learning, thanks to the fine members of the LCSCA more about the quality of the Smith guns, think I will pass up the LeFever for now, and wait on this older O grade-Should I shoot the GOEX black powder shells I see in Cabela's in the Cowboy Shooting ammo dept. in either of these older shotguns, or will my favorite new paper low-base 12 gauge sheels be OK? I like the RIO paper 1 oz. low base 3 dram 2 and 3-4" shells- they pattern like gangbusters in either barrel of the Number 2-
