16 Gauge "The Fulton" Archived Message

Just picked up a 16 ga. Fulton. Note a few things about it. 1) It is marked "The Fulton" top R barrel. 2) It is checkered butt stock and forearm. The checkering appears to be the same style as my Elsie, but a little different pattern. It has a fancy butt plate with the Elsie dog with bird in mouth in center circle. 3) The stock has been drilled out like a Featherweight. Revdoc posted a photo of the buttplate in Picture Trails, and advised it was shown in Houchin's book. The gun is an early 3 screw model, with SN 10,223. The drilled out stock is my main reason for this posting, other than just general info that may or may not be of interest to anyone else. Is the drilled Feather weight stock the normal stock for 16 Fultons? Regards, Jim Cantwell
