Thomas, If you only have the one on the receiver of Mar.20,'83, this makes it interesting. I have a serial number of 16656 Quality 4, that has all three (3) serial numbers. Your serial number and this one are close, only 110 guns apart, so this might be close to the two patent dates of Mar.20,'83 and July 13,'86. (I'm hoping) The one on forend June 1,80 is for the "J" spring. That will be on most guns up until around 1897-98. It is the same as the first patent date on the receiver of Mar.20,'83, after 17 years the patent expires, and you shouldn't see them on later guns.
