Mark, Since no one has answered you yet, I will do my best. I've heard that ejector guns will be case colored along with the escutcheon. I have also heard that non-ejector guns are nitre-blued like the trigger guard. Since there is no one alive (or so it seems) that worked for Hunter Arms the only thing to go by is what the experts feel is original. Also since there were so many options that you as a customer could order so who knows what is "original" or not. By the way some of these "experts" were almost duped at the big auction in New Hampshire(Julia's) in the spring of this year It all comes to a point as I stated before, "just when you think you know a little, you realize you don't". Good luck and do what you like and let someone prove otherwise.
