TWIMC, I took the 1909 Elsie that I described previously to MGS R. Painter at Economy,pa. He measured the chambers at 2 3/4 inches (no surprise to the guys here). He found one "just noticeable" crack at the 5 o'clock position of the left lock plate. He will relieve the lock plates and glass bed the stock head. I should have the gun back in a couple of weeks and I expect it to have a clean bill of health. I will shoot it for a while and if all is well, a bit of stock restoration may be in order. Thanks, bill
