Need help identifying an L.C. Smith Archived Message

I need help identifying an L.C. Smith Shotgun. It belonged to my wife's Great Grandfather who belonged to the Texas Rangers and supposedly carried it around the turn of the century. Her father had it in a custom-made display case and gave it to us. I was so intrigued by it I wanted to identify it, so I cut apart the display case. Imagine my despair when I found almost no identifying information on it.
It is a side-by-side 30" double barrel (I believe 12Ga) with double exterior hammers and two triggers. It also has a rifle barrel underneath the shotgun barrels (I believe around .44 Cal) there are only two triggers, but I believe the left trigger operates the rifle with a half-cock of the LH hammer. There is another smaller lever forward of the two triggers that I can only assume will break the gun but I cannot get the gun to break. It may be stuck from years of non-use.
I have looked over the gun, but the only info on it that I can find is "The L.C. Smith Trap Gun" on the butt plate along with a retriever and a duck falling into grass. Also, I removed the forestock by removing a 1/2" wide flat pin. Inside the forestock is a metal bracket with the stamping "1111". I cannot find a serial number or any caliber info on the gun anywhere.
It has a very basic metal blade sight arrangement, front and rear.
Anyone who could shed any light on identifying this gun, I would appreciate it greatly.
