    Neal, as easy check of the chamber length would be to take a 3"x5" file card, roll it length wise and insert it in the chamber. Push it in gently until it stops. Mark it there with a pencil and do it again to see if it stops at the same place. Measure how far it went into the chamber. Either 2 3/4" or 3".

    As for knowing choke size, if you take it to a dealer or gunsmith they should be able to check it for you.

    The "R" at the end of the serial number, no one seems to know what that is in reference to. The "R" prefix along with maybe R E would mean Regular frame and "E" for ejectors. ex. R E XXXXX
