The engraving does not appear to be Hunter Arms quality and is certainly not a standard factory pattern/s. Given the fact that the maker's name "L C Smith" is stamped on the lockplates and not engraved, my guess is that the gun is a dressed up Field Grade. Have the seller read or show the grade stamp atop the left barrel, if it has not been removed; I suspect it will clearly say "Field Grade". If the barrel stamp has been removed, the grade stamp will still be visible on the water table of the frame.
