    Norm,
The barrels appear to be fluid steel, and in at least fair condition. I have read of several instances where an individual will be in the process of loading his 12 ga gun and inadvertently drops a 20 ga shell in the first barrel.(Shell was likely left in his bag from a previous 20 ga outing) After loading the second chamber, the shooter notices that the first chamber is empty and loads a 12 ga shell in the first chamber. The barrel at this point is effectively plugged with a 20 gauge shell. You can guess what happens next.
