"The mark of a gentleman..." Archived Message

Still recovering from my cross country odyssey, and getting ready for Guatemala next week, but I wanted to recognize the true gentlemen that birthed and continue to nurture this wonderful organization. I've tried to find the original quotation without success, but Jack O'Connor said (something like ) "A double gun is the mark of a gentleman, but hardly the only requirement." These guys have all the marks, and it was such a pleasure getting to know the leadership, their wives, and other LCSCA members who were able to attend 'The Southern.' Special recognition should go to:
Frank and Mary Anne for their enthusiasm and committment in making the Association and our presentation of the highest quality. Our booth was brightened by Tammy Jo and three lovely flower arraignments, which made each LCs on display an even more magnificent "...thing of beauty, and a joy forever."
Steve Arnett for his expert management of the shooting events.
Pastor Charlie Brooks for leading a large group in worship Sunday morning.
Every member who attended with their joy in sharing the common bond of affection for 'Sweet Elsie', and their gracious welcome of new 'converts' to the family. And that's just how it felt, a 'family reunion', even if this was our first actual meeting, with a bit of an old fashioned LC 'tent revival' toward those reprobate Parker, Fox, and Lefever fellas
Chick Candler's lovely daughter Rebecca, and Charlie Brooks' son-what a delight to spend time with such quality young people!
Finally to Bill Kempffer and his staff in doing their best to make 'The Southern' a qualtiy and enjoyable event.
And on a personal note; John, Chick, Jent, Bob, Jim & Cheryl, Chris, Steve, Frank, Charlie and everyone else - my 'imaginary internet friends' are no longer a figment of my squishy pea brain I only wish Dr Bill, Skip and Chris Dunlap, Len Applegate, Tom Archer, Mike Lewis, and Mike Harris had been able to attend. And Primero Dios-we'll all be there next year Look for the smiling dork in the straw 'boater'
