The discussion below, regarding engraving on the #3s, led me to asking about the various shapes of the sideplates. I had assumed for years that the pre 1913s had one shape, post '13s another. Studying the photo trail suggests otherwise. And, from what I can see, there's at least 3 different shapes. What's up?
