RevDoc. The 12 ga pre-1913 I sent you the lousy pic of has Armor barrels, not damascas. Now to the 16 ga. I took it into the gunsmith and had him strip and oil and lube it. Boy what a wonderful move that turned out to be. Although the outside, if you remember the pix which you posted for me, was very nice, the inside had a coat of rust throughout. The gunsmith removed all the rust, oiled/lubed and reassembled it. I got it back today, proud as a peacock. I read one of the members comment on not ever seeing a '45-'50 Marlin Elsie that was pretty. Well I'm here to say that this is a fine looking SxS!!!! This may be the proud father or grandfather, in this case, syndromes, but I wouldn't be ashaned to show up on any firing line with it in my hands. The assistant gunsmith, who had the job of cleaning the rust off, asked me to contact him if it was ever for sale. I told him he was second in line with my son, of course, having first dibs. He with the above pre-1913 12 ga. So, we saved another for future generations to enjoy. Thanks to the club for guidance. Regards, Jim...
