`In a previous post, the question was addressed as to the serial number of the last L C Smith gun produced between Dec.21 1945 and Jan.19 1949. These guns were serial numbered in a new block (FWS1 to FWS 56,800) In the previous post it was stated that the last serial # was 55,982. I have a Field grade FWS 410 serial # 56,172 This appears to contradict the previous post of 55,982. Without some very detailed and expensive research from the archives at Cody, I guess we will have to figure this one out ourselves.
