I have 2 L.C. Smith shotguns, field grade that the seller told me they were "lightweight specials" he claimed he had weighed them on a accurate scale to confirm this. After speaking to several people they have informed me this is not how to determine the light weight grade, that it has something to do with the number of screws in the side plates. Cansome one help me with this matter? one gun is a 1928 12 ga the other a 1934 16 ga.
